I would recommend Jutta as a teacher of German without hesitation, and would urge anyone – from beginners to accomplished learners – to draw on her skill and expertise for themselves and their children. Our daughter, who was learning German at her local school, achieved the highest possible grade at GCSE (9) even though German is not my or my husband’s native language. Jutta’s tutoring contributed to my daughter’s achievement, polishing her German skills and giving her further confidence. Jutta knows the UK German exam curriculums inside out, and knows what examiners are looking for. She quickly grasped my daughter’s strengths, as well as opportunities to do even better. She is both encouraging and specific about areas for improvement. For example, she pinpointed grammar issues, and encouraged my daughter to structure her sentences as correctly as possible, alongside foregrounding advanced vocabulary and idioms. Jutta worked with our family flexibly, and my daughter found her lessons fun and worthwhile. I myself am hoping to take up German with Jutta, when time permits – I’m looking forward to it.
